Title:  Irene Bruce Papers (2017-26)
Abstract:  Irene Bruce (1903-1937) was a Nevada Poet, poetry editor for Nevada magazine, founder of the Reno Poetry Workshop, and member of the National League of American Pen Women. Collection contains notebooks of poetry written by Bruce and a manuscript copy and a book jacket of Night Cry.

Title:  Robert Cole Caples Correspondence with Anthony Shafton (2011-17)
Abstract:  Anthony Shafton (1937- ) is a Chicago native, Reno resident, and author whose correspondence with Robert Cole Caples (1908-1979) began in 1964 until Caples' death. Shafton began saving the letters in 1977. Caples was a largely self-trained artist most well known for his portraits of Reno divorcees and his Indian portraits drawn during the Depression under the Federal Arts Project. Also included are other documents and letters from Rosemary Caples and Carl Heinze.

Title:  Warren Lerude Papers (2013-28)
Abstract:  Warren Leslie Lerude was born in Reno, Nevada. He graduated from the University of Nevada School of Journalism in 1961 and began a career in journalism and teaching that spanned over 50 years. Collection includes research materials, correspondence, files, interviews, reviews, and photos relating to Lerude's books American Commander in Spain and Robert Laxalt: The Story of a Storyteller as well as materials about the University of Nevada, Reno Reynolds School of Journalism, Lerude's teachering career in journalism, and his work as a media and management consultant.

Title:  Ronald M. James Papers (2010-10)
Abstract:  Ronald M. James is an historian and former administrator of the Nevada State Historic Preservation Office (1983-2012) and author or editor of over a dozen books and numerous articles. He is known for his knowledge of Virginia City and writings on Nevada's Comstock Lode period as well as about the state's architectural history. In 2014, he was inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame.

Title:  Walter Van Tilburg Clark Letters to John Herrmann (2017-52)
Abstract:  Collection contains 13 letters written by Walter Van Tilburg Clark, Nevada author and editor, to Howard Herrmann from Larkspur, California and Reno, Nevada, concerning work on a new literary magazine published by San Francisco State campus beginning in 1959 called Chrysalis Review, of which Herrmann was the founding editor, as well as various publications Clark was working on at the time the letters were written.

Abstract:  James "Jim" McCormick, a faculty member of the Art Department at University of Nevada, Reno, offered instruction in printmaking, drawing, visual foundations, art history, papermaking and other disciplines. After retiring as Art Department chair in 1992, he continued creating his art full-time. Collection includes art related items created or collected by the donor, mostly during his tenure in UNR Art Department (portfolios, posters, art prints, various artists' work and special editions of book arts books), biographical documents from McCormick's early years (1936-1954), newspaper articles, publications, exhibits (curated, group, invited), articles, travels, art (workshops, conferences, galleries, organizations/museums), UNR material, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Nevada, correspondence, and other miscellaneous personal files and family records.

Title:  William L. Fox Papers (2006-15)
Abstract:  William L. Fox, poet, writer and artist, has worked with arts and literary organizations, including the Western States Arts Foundation and the Western States Book Awards, co-founded the West Coast Poetry Review (a small press) with Bruce McAllister, has been an artist-in-residence in Nevada and Washington, deputy and executive director of the Nevada Arts Council (1979-1993), and served as poetry program director for the Squaw Valley Community of Writers (1976-1984). Fox was inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame in 2004. Included are correspondence, subject files, and materials on various projects.

Abstract:  The Ann Ronald Papers contain materials that cover Ronald's tenure as a professor and administrator at the University of Nevada, Reno as well as her role as a leading scholar and author in the fields of nature writing and ecocriticism. A lifelong member of the Western Literature Association, many of Ronald's books, articles, and essays describe the places and landscapes of the American West, especially Nevada. Abstract:  Willa Oldham Ramsden moved to Boulder City, Nevada, in 1957 where she and her husband, Clifton John Oldham, raised Appaloosa horses and where she began writing articles for local newspapers. In 1970, they relocated to Carson City where Willa became well known as a writer and community activist. Her collection includes personal information, professional activity material, material on horses, correspondence, articles, speeches, and copies of her two books on Carson City history.
