Abstract:  Records are arranged into three divisions, the College of Agriculture, the Cooperative Extension Service, and the Agricultural Experiment Station. Records include correspondence with the deans and directors of the divisions; correspondence with university presidents and county agents; information of the Newlands Project, and the Nevada Farm Bureau; project reports; information on personnel; budgets; experiment record books; letterpress books; photographs; maps and graphs. Also included are personal correspondence files kept by Samuel B. Doten, Agricultural Experiment Director. The records primarily cover the 1930s-1950s, with little beyond 1957, with the exception of limited Cooperative Extension records for the mid-1960s.

Also included are records on his activities after retirement, including his appointment to the Governor's Committee on Aging; correspondence on the Taylor Grazing Act, 1963; and a member of the Washoe County Community Action Association, 1966. In addition, there is a scrapbook containing clippings on agricultural issues: reclamation, livestock, Nevada Farm Bureau, 4-H, etc., 1924-1926.

Title:  William J. Raggio Papers (2013-02)
Abstract:  William J. Raggio, a Republican, was Nevada's longest serving state senator, his tenure lasted from 1972 until his resignation in 2011. For most of his senatorial career Raggio was widely considered to be the unequaled master of the legislative process. He served as the Assistant District Attorney of Washoe County from 1952 to 1958, and later as the District Attorney from 1958-1970. During his time in the DA's office, he handled a number of high profile cases, including one with vice kingpin Joe Conforte.
