Abstract:  Copy of a diary kept by an anonymous author on a journey from St. Joseph to Cedarville, California by way of the Humboldt and Carson Rivers in Nevada. Also included are letters, 1938-1966 from Ralph L. Phelps and Dale L. Morgan regarding the provenance of the diary and geographical details, and a typescript by Phelps.

Title:  Utica Bullion Mining Company Records (98-32)
Abstract:  The bulk of this collection consists of correspondence to Samuel Campbell from Walter Schmidt, providing reports of mining and milling operations of the Utica Bullion Mining Company and of the operations of the Desert Crystal Salt Company. Other documents contained in the collection include legal documents such as contracts, mining laws, water and mineral claims, deeds, agreements, abstracts of title, certificate of incorporation, bylaws, and court orders.

Abstract:  Correspondence files, 1932-1935, maintained by George Hardman, on various projects, including drought relief, erosion, irrigation and water supply with other state and federal agencies. Included is a copy of a presentation by William Peterson at the Stockmen's Convention, Ursine, Nevada, 1932, on the Taylor Grazing Act. A second series of records, 1939-1942, were maintained by Howard G. Mason, agricultural planning specialist, concerning the Nevada State Land Use Planning Committee and includes agreements, meeting minutes, and reports on Churchill, Clark, Douglas, Elko, Lincoln, and Lyon counties.
