Abstract:  Materials in this collection cover the domestic and international initiatives and projects of the Foresta Institute for Ocean and Mountain Studies from its inception in 1960 until it's eventual closure in the early 2000s. In addition to materials relating to the institute, there is also information on its founders, particularly Richard Gordon Miller and his research on the fishes of the Antarctic and his other interests. Materials include correspondence, reports, news clips, agendas, administrative files, speeches, publication drafts, travel itineraries, conference information, and research on environmental issues.
